VENO NEWS: THANK YOU IKORODU - A VALEDICTORY NOTE BY HON. WASIU AYODEJI ADESINA, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT (2017-2025)

It is with a fulfilled heart that I pen down this valedictory note of appreciation to the good people of Ikorodu for the opportunity given to me to serve.

It has been eight years of hard work and dedication. All I can say is Alhamdulillah. We started with a great vision to leave Ikorodu Local Government better than we met it. We set forth on the mission, and to the glory of God we delivered.

Under my administration, I was able to deliver some key legacy projects which include the face-lifting of the Local Government Secretariat, built Prince Ogunleye Legislative Chamber, Revamped the Customary Court to cement our efforts towards ensuring separation of power.

Also during my years in office, our internally generated revenue experienced a significant increase. We also launched the Local Government Joint Task Force to ensure lives and property are secured. The Education sector also enjoyed critical priority with numerous interventions such as the construction of numerous blocks of classrooms, disbursement of bursary awards, Free GCE and JAMB Forms, support for teaching and non-teaching staff in various schools, construction of school fences, provision of chairs, desks and other stationeries which include computer sets and many more.

It is important to note that, my administration was well-known for the infrastructural improvements of Ikorodu Local Government, with our projects cutting across rehabilitation and construction of major inner roads with both side Drainages and covered culverts, street lights, social interventions, water projects and many more.

Undoubtedly, Ikorodu Local Government under my administration over the past years has experienced tremendous impact across every strata of governance and ensured residents enjoy the dividends of democracy.

I can only appreciate the good people of Ikorodu for the opportunity to serve. Your support started the first day you entrusted your vote with me, you didn't stop at that, you continued through with your praises of "WADESH is Working... Ikorodu is Moving", and your constructive criticism that jolts me back to reality that my people need more.

It is important to acknowledge and appreciate our vibrant, proactive and visionary leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose thoughtfulness and keen interest in grassroot development birth the 37 LCDAs and reinvigorated attention to Local Government Autonomy.

I appreciate our very own Mr. Sellable, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, H.E. Babajide Sanwo-olu, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Abiru, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Hon. Aro Moshood, and all other political icons fanning the embers of progress in Ikorodu Division.

Also, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my mentor, and political icon, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and APC GAC Member for the trust and belief he has in me.

To everyone who made up my cabinet, who worked rigorously behind the scenes to ensure I deliver at all levels, thank you, I do not take it for granted. By God's grace posterity would be kind to all of us.

I, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, wishes the new administration a successful and prosperous tenure. I urge the team to put the people first in all that they do and I believe they would deliver.

Ikorodu is my home. I have no where else to go. I would continue to do my best and render services to the benefit of all and sundry today, tomorrow and all the days of my life.
