Dr. Femi Olaleye, a Nigerian medical doctor, was arrested in London in late November 2025 and spent 56 days in custody before being granted bail by a UK court.
His arrest took place at Gatwick Airport. His arrest is connected to sexual crime allegations relating to three counts of voyeurism, allegedly committed between 2004 and 2007 while he was practising medicine in Kent, United Kingdom.
Having exhausted his custody term, he was granted bail which was not a declaration of innocence. The court approved bail primarily due to procedural delays, as prosecutors sought additional time to file and serve new evidence.
In recognition of the seriousness of the allegations and concerns about flight risk, the court imposed strict bail conditions.
These conditions include the surrender of all passports and travel documents, residence at a court-approved address, a nightly curfew (7 p.m. – 6 a.m.), regular reporting to the police, and a strict prohibition against contacting witnesses.
The prosecution has confirmed that it is actively building its case, and Dr. Olaleye is expected to return to court later in 2026, after both legal teams complete their review of newly served evidence.
This case is a reminder that time does not erase accountability and that professional status does not confer the right to sexual abuse.
