VENO tv: Court Dismisses Omoyele Sowore’s No-Case Submission Against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Orders Him To Enter Defence Over Alleged Cybercrime Charges × Sowore Asks Judge To Recuse Himself Date: 08-05-26
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the no-case submission filed by activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, in the alleged cybercrime case instituted against him over comments made against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The court held that the prosecution had established a prima facie case requiring Sowore to open his defence in the matter. The Department of State Services (DSS), prosecuting the case on behalf of the Federal Government, had accused Sowore of making alleged defamatory and cybercrime-related statements against the President on social media.
Following the ruling, Sowore reportedly asked the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Umar, to recuse himself from further handling of the case, citing concerns over fairness.
