Wow! For the past 72 hours, I have enjoyed virtually uninterrupted power supply in my area. Even whenever electricity goes off, it is restored within a short time. Such efficiency deserves commendation.

I therefore salute the new Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, who recently assumed office following his confirmation by the Senate and appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Based on feedback from many Nigerians, there appears to be noticeable improvement in electricity supply in several parts of the country.

For years, Nigerians have suffered frequent power outages and repeated grid collapses. Businesses, artisans, students, and ordinary citizens have borne the burden of unreliable electricity.

Therefore, any positive change in the sector should be acknowledged and encouraged.
If this recent improvement is sustained, it will bring relief to millions of Nigerians and boost economic activities across the nation. Stable electricity reduces dependence on generators, lowers operating costs for businesses, and improves the quality of life for citizens.

The Federal Government is also considering initiatives that could make television access more affordable for Nigerians. With improved electricity supply, many households will be able to enjoy such benefits and reduce the financial burden associated with expensive television subscriptions.

However, Nigerians will be watching closely to ensure that the current improvement is not temporary or politically motivated. What citizens desire is a long-term solution that guarantees reliable and affordable electricity regardless of political seasons.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu promised Nigerians improved power supply, and this appears to be a step in that direction. Nevertheless, there is still a need to address concerns over estimated billing and high electricity charges. Consumers should not continue to receive inflated bills when power supply remains inconsistent in some areas.

The power sector remains one of the most critical foundations for national development. If the current momentum is maintained, Nigeria can move closer to achieving the stable electricity system that citizens have long desired.

For now, I commend the Minister of Power and all stakeholders working behind the scenes to improve electricity supply. May this progress continue and spread across every part of Nigeria.
I see a greater Nigeria ahead.
