VENO tv: FROM THE PULPIT Let God's Kingdom Reign in Your Life, Bishop Ojo Urges Christians

By Temitope Oni

The Presiding Bishop of Veno Prayer Centre (Mountain of Covenant), Bishop Dr. Sanya Ojo SOMH Cares, has called on Christians to make the Kingdom of God their highest priority, stressing that God's blessings can only be fully enjoyed by those who willingly submit to His authority.
Speaking during the Hour of Mercy service, Bishop Ojo preached on the theme, "Let Thy Kingdom Come (Je Ki Ij?ba R? Dé)," using Matthew 6:10, Matthew 6:33, John 3:3, 2 Peter 3:13, and 1 Peter 1:23 as his anchor scriptures.
Quoting Jesus' prayer in Matthew 6:10, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven," the cleric explained that the Kingdom of God is not merely a future promise but the present reign, authority, and power of God in the lives of believers.
According to him, many people desire God's blessings but reject His rulership over their lives. He noted that God's Kingdom can only be established where people willingly surrender themselves to His will.
Bishop Ojo stated that the first step into God's Kingdom is the experience of the new birth. Referring to John 3:3, he said no one can see or enter God's Kingdom without being born again through genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. He added that the Kingdom begins in the heart before it is reflected in one's daily lifestyle.
He further challenged believers to obey the instruction of Jesus in Matthew 6:33 by seeking the Kingdom of God above wealth, fame, power and worldly ambitions. According to him, those who make God's Kingdom their first priority enjoy divine provision, protection, favour and lasting peace.
The preacher also reminded Christians that praying, "Let Thy Kingdom Come," means surrendering completely to God's will. He urged worshippers to allow God to direct their decisions, control their lives and fulfil His purpose in them instead of insisting on personal ambitions.
Speaking on the hope of every believer, Bishop Ojo referred to 2 Peter 3:13, saying that Christians are citizens of a heavenly Kingdom and should continually prepare for the return of Jesus Christ by living holy, remaining faithful and walking in righteousness.
He also emphasized that the Word of God remains the seed through which God's Kingdom grows in the life of every believer. He encouraged Christians to devote themselves to prayer, Bible study, obedience to God's commands, evangelism and holy living, warning that spiritual growth becomes impossible when God's Word is neglected.
In his concluding remarks, Bishop Ojo declared that God's Kingdom must first reign in the hearts of individuals before it can transform families, churches, communities and nations. He urged believers to remain steadfast in their faith and live every day with the expectation of inheriting God's everlasting Kingdom.
He concluded the service with fervent prayers, asking God to establish His Kingdom in the lives of His people, destroy every work of darkness, strengthen believers to live holy lives, and let His Kingdom reign in Veno Prayer Centre, Nigeria, and throughout the world.
