VENO tv: POLITICS |TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT: Viral ADC INEC Submission Image Declared Fake
Date: 13-07-26

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed as false a viral image circulating on social media claiming that a faction led by Bala Nafiu Gombe had uploaded the party's presidential and National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.

According to the party's recognized national leadership under David Mark, the image is fabricated and should be disregarded.
The party explained that the original image was first shared by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to announce that a PDP faction aligned with the FCT Minister had successfully submitted its candidates.

ADC alleged that political mischief makers later removed the PDP logo from the original image, replaced it with the ADC logo, and began circulating it online to create confusion and mislead members of the public.
The party further clarified that only the duly recognized national leadership of any registered political party—specifically the National Chairman and National Secretary whose names are officially recognized on the INEC portal—possess the authorized access code required to submit candidates.
ADC therefore described the circulating image as a deliberate act of misinformation aimed at causing unnecessary confusion within the party and among the public.

The party urged all ADC members, supporters, and Nigerians to ignore the fake image and rely only on official communications issued by the party's recognized leadership.
