At least five people have been killed after an Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport in Florida, United States.
The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon Prime Air, overran the runway while landing on Sunday, September 6, 2026, after arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The aircraft reportedly struck several vehicles before bursting into flames, prompting a massive emergency response at the airport.
Five other people were injured and taken to hospital, with three reported to be in critical condition.
The incident temporarily disrupted flight operations at Miami International Airport as emergency crews battled the fire and secured the crash scene.
The United States National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including examining the aircraft’s landing, braking system, weather conditions and maintenance history.
Amazon and the aircraft operator have expressed condolences to the families of the victims and pledged full cooperation with investigators.
