Mummy as we fondly called her just like so many others who have closed relationship with her is truly a mother by all means and standards.

She can be extremely caring and at the same time appears as a disciplinarian. She believed in the maxim, Spare the rod spoil the child. This does not exclude anyone no matter how big.

She has confided so many things in me that have become prophetic. I remembered two incidents vividly, during last Kogi governorship election in November 2019 and news filtered in that some unscrupulous elements had invaded Hotel where our amiable Governor was staying as Chairman of Kogi Governorship PDP Campaign Team. I had gone to see her to reassure her that HE is fine and she told me in her kitchen that nothing bad will happen to HE and went further to say she has convenant with God that none of her children will die while she is alive. This has come to pass.Â

She told some of us that she will not fall sick before she leaves this world and join her creator. This has come to pass. No sickness at all. She just left .

Besides, perhaps she had premonition of her death because in the last one year of her sojourn on earth she concentrated more in taking good care of the less privileged and this was more evident during pandemic ensuring they have more to eat . And would call often to ask after my family.

Mama you have gone but we take solace in the fact that you left good children that will continue your good work as exemplifies by HE Seyi Makinde.

May the good Lord Comfort the family and give us the fortitude to bear your passage to joinÂ your Lord and Saviour. Amen!
