My today’s experience between Abule Egba and Toll Gate Ota is not a good one, I weep for Nigeria. I wonder how commuters and other road users in that route are coping due to the current unacceptable condition of almost 100% of the roads, as in it is no longer motorable.
This road had been in terrible condition over the years, further degenerated at the outset of the current rainy season, thereby compounding the people’s hardship as most parts of the roads are impassable and riddled with potholes and craters following persistent flooding engendered by poor drainages.
Why did our politicians pretend as if they don’t know that the condition of the road had deteriorated to this extent? Why are they looking other way when it comes to the provision of good and services that will make life worth living for the common citizens?
What is the essence of billions of naira allocated for the construction of roads and the provision of infrastructural development when our roads remain a death trap for motorists and commuters?
Lagos-Abeokuta expressway is now dungeon, Lagos- Ibadan is like going to Hell! Imagine spending three hours between Ojodu and Mowe Ibadan, ordinary, a trip that is not up to 15mins if the road is good! Who did we offend and what is our offence?
Why are these leaders treating us this way? What are they doing with all these Billions we always hear that they borrowed?
Do we really deserve this from those claiming they are representing us? These are questions begging for answers.
Enough is enough! We demand immediate remedial work on some of the bad roads most especially Abule Egba roads to alleviate the long sufferings of the people.
