Date: 14-04-24

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, arrived to a rousing welcome at Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government area on Friday as he flagged off his campaign tour ahead of the April 20 governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing the crowd of party members gathered at the Premier Resort, Igbara-Oke, the Governor thanked party leaders and members for their overwhelming support which will translate to victory at the primary.

The Governor, who was screened and cleared for the contest by the national Secretariat of the party in Abuja earlier on Friday, said all rumours about his eligibility have now been laid to rest.

He urged party members with membership cards to come out enmase on April 20 and cast their votes for him to emerge as the candidate to lead the party to victory in November.

Leaders of the party in Ifedore, who spoke one after the other, declared their total support for the Governor, saying the local government will speak with one voice on April 20.

The Ifedore leaders included Major General Seebi James (rtd), the Commissioner for Energy, Engr Razaq Obe, member of the House of Assembly representing Ifedore, Hon. Tope Komolafe, and Dr. Seun Osamaye (Eye Omo).

Earlier, the Governor had paid a visit to the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, where he received royal blessings.

On his way to Ifedore, the Governor had a stop over at a rally in his support organised by a chieftain of the APC in Akure, Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu, at the Democracy Park in Akure.

Addressing the crowd of supporters, the Governor commended the efforts of the convener, saying the huge turnout is another pointer to victory at the primary.
