VENO NEWS:*Unveiling Ondo's Political Titans: A Gubernatorial Showdown and the Quest for Victory* By Ifeanyi Lloyd
Date: 27-04-24

The curtains have fallen on Ondo State's political stage, revealing the chosen champions of its two formidable parties. On April 20, 2024, amidst anticipation and fervor, the All Progressive Congress (APC) proudly unveiled His Excellency (Hon.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as its standard-bearer. Yesterday, 25th April 2024, in the vibrant city of Akure, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) echoed their announcement, proclaiming His Excellency (Hon.) Agboola Ajayi as their flag bearer.

Now, the stage is set for a riveting showdown in the upcoming gubernatorial election, pitting two former deputy governors who served with Late Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON against each other. The aura of anticipation is palpable as His Excellency (Hon.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the APC squares off against His Excellency (Hon.) Agboola Ajayi of the PDP. This battle is not merely a clash of personalities but a collision of political forces, with Aiyedatiwa's incumbency and the APC's federal backing locking horns with Ajayi's illustrious political career.

Amidst the political fervor, accolades are in order for the PDP, whose transparent and equitable primary process birthed Ajayi's candidacy. However, the path to victory demands astute decision-making, especially in selecting Ajayi's running mate. Recognizing Ajayi's influence in Ondo State, the choice of a running mate from the Central Senatorial Zone, intimately acquainted with the state's political terrain, is paramount. In steps Hon.(Engr.) Clement.O.Faboyede, fondly known as Faboo, a beacon of experience and leadership. From former roles as Ifedore Local Government Chairman, former member of Ondo State Micro Credit Agency, former Commissioner, former PDP state Chairman to current PDP NEC Member, Faboo embodies the depth needed to complement Ajayi's vision.

The significance of choosing Faboo as Ajayi's running mate cannot be overstated. It holds the promise of catapulting the PDP to new heights in the electoral battleground. As the drums of democracy beat louder, PDP leaders and stakeholders must heed this clarion call, ensuring that past missteps are rectified and that victory is not just an aspiration but an inevitability in the upcoming election.
