VENO tv:Fatal Accident Claims One Life on 3rd Mainland Bridge as State Government Cautions Driver Against Over Speeding

A fatal accident on the Third Mainland Bridge, early this morning, Saturday, June 29, has claimed the life of one person
The accident, near the University of Lagos (Unilag) Waterfront heading towards the Iyana-Oworonsoki area, according to a statement credited to the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, involved a miini truck, marked MUS 489 XS and a Toyota Camry car, with registration number KRD 470 JD.
The statement, issued by the Director of Information and Public Affairs and Enlightenment of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofiq, attributed the accident to excessive speed, coupled with a torrential rainfall.
Hon. Giwa expressed worry that, despite the state government's ongoing campaign to educate motorists about speed limits, drivers continue to flout the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018
He has, however, urged drivers, commercial bus and private car owners, to avoid speeding, while extending his condolences to the family of the deceased and emphasized the importance of safety.
"The deceased was promptly removed by SEHMU officials, while LASTMA cleared the accident vehicles to ensure smooth traffic flow on the bridge" the statement added .
